How I Learned More about Homepathy

A few years after visiting the homeopathic clinic for my son, I was suffering my own symptoms of illness. I was dealing with major depression and a weak thyroid. I was always cold, lethargic and apathetic. I rarely left my bed because I was always cold! We didn’t have the money to go to the clinic for myself this time, so I simply suffered more and felt sorry for myself, which made me even more depressed.

I was a completely overwhelmed homeschooling mom with 7 kids and one on the way.  We had moved to a new town. It has always been very difficult for me to adjust after a move. This was a particularly difficult move because I had left a town with friends that shared many of the same crazy life philosophies I espouse. Crazy loves company, and I had left my perfect little nest of my best granola friends, lol.

I knew that this depression was also related to my gut issues. I was not eating a healthy, whole foods, plant based diet. I was malnourished, and my emotional state was quickly becoming a detriment not only to me, but to the well being of my family.

While browsing online one day in October or November 2013, I came across a small ad in the sidebar that advertised an online class called Good Gut Bad Gut.  I felt impressed to check it out.  It was taught by a woman named Joette Calabrese, who is a classically trained homeopath. She herself had suffered debilitating allergies, eczema, and asthma and had been healed by using homeopathic treatments.  The description of her class intrigued me and, even though it was fairly expensive, I enrolled.

That class changed my life in so many ways, I still cannot believe how much better my life (and my family’s life) is because of the things I learned. During the class, I learned about the Banerji Protocols. Joette learned these protocols when she studied at the Prasanta Banerji Homeopathic Research Foundation in Calcutta, India.  This clinic sees over 1000 patients a day! These protocols have been researched and proven effective. They are amazing.

The study of homeopathy can seem daunting.  The protocols make homeopathy easily understandable and implementable. As far as I know, Joette Calabrese is the only one that is teaching the protocols in the US. Taking her class and learning some of the protocols helped me be confident in identifying symptoms and the correct protocols for many different ailments in varied areas.  I used specific remedies for the depression and thyroid issues I was experiencing.  I learned remedies for emergencies, allergies, stomach issues, temper tantrums, mental issues, and various types of infections and illness.

We now own over a hundred different remedies that we use frequently and I never have to worry about the side effects or toxins that are generally associated with prescribed medication.  I LOVE homeopathy, and it is my wish that I can encourage others to learn about how safe, effective, and inexpensive it is. I believe this method of healing is a gift from God, and because it has had such a life-altering impact on me and my family, I feel it is my mission to open my mouth and share it with as many people as possible.
